Our Rucksack is inspired by outdoor backpack styles from the 80s and 90s when elements like internal frames and top pocket brains became widespread. These features lead to more versatile and better performing bags that suited a wide variety of users and were built with durable materials. Many of these types of bags have been replaced by more specialized, niche products that are targeting specific sports and focus on shaving grams to increase performance at the expense of longevity.
The suspension of the Rucksack used 3 different densities of closed cell foam in the straps, waist belt, and back panel to balance cushion and support. Four way adjustment on the belt allows fine tuning of fit for different hip shapes and load lifters on the shoulder straps make it so that people with different torso lengths can wear the bag comfortably.
The removable brain has a top quick access pocket with volume and discrete flat pocket on the underside. The cord lock and toggle closure system is an unique solution to allow for the bag to stay securely closed when packed to different volumes. There are daisy chain rows all around the body as well as on the hip belt that can be used to lash or clip gear. They also serve as the framing for the long shock cord array that is adjustable at three points and can be opened in two locations via clips. This further expands the capacity of the bag and is ideal for carrying wet items that you don’t wish to store in the main compartment. Three axe loops round out the external details.
The main compartment is accessed via a cinch collar and inside the bag a sleeve with an elastic top that can be used for a laptop, water bladder, or other large flat item.
All the textiles on the bag are mid to heavyweight woven nylons that are tough and will age gracefully.
